Buying tools for an independent repair shop
I run a small independent repair shop, so we get a bit of everything rather than specializing in one brand. That makes choosing diagnostic equipment difficult because I need decent vehicle coverage without buying separate tools for every manufacturer. I’Ve been checking the options on https://ecutools.eu/ and trying to work out whether it makes more sense to invest in one strong multi-brand setup or several more specialized devices. How are other independent workshops handling this? ¿What setup has proved the most practical in the long run?

I’D keep a good multi-brand tool as the main setup and only buy brand-specific equipment when you have enough regular work to justify it. That approach worked much better for us. Specialized tools can be great, but there’s little point having expensive equipment that gets taken out of the cabinet twice a month.
